Classical Guitar Strings

Classical guitars have 6 strings called nylon strings. The highest three are clear plastic looking whereas the lowest three are strands of nylin fiber wound with metal. I am happy to change strings during a lesson for no charge and I can supply Augustine Strings for £10, cash only. If you prefer a different brand please bring this to a lesson for me to change.

Augustine Red - Medium Tension Nylon Strings

Available from me for £10, cash only. A fantastic string by an American company credited for being the first to make a nylon string. Excellent value that have a warm tone and work well for most students.

Beware of buying these on Amazon as they are often fake.

D'Addario EJ45 Pro Arte - Medium Tension - Nylon Strings

The American company D'Addario have been a product leader for many years and this strings is excellent for student with a warm tone, normal durability. Not great for nail players as the tone is plasticky. Bewars of buying on Amazon as these are very often fake.

Knobloch "Erithacus -

Medium Tension Nylon strings EDQ33.5

Knobloch are a Spanish company who make a premium string, full and rich sound, big boost to volume/projection and longer lasting basses due to a plymer coating. I am sponsored by Knobloch as an artist and use these on all my guitars.

D'Addario XTC45 - Normal Tension Strings

D'Addario's premium string, the XT series is also fuller/warmer in sound and has a big boost in volume/projection along with coated and longer lasting basses. An all round excellent string.
